Kitchen Renovation 2009

I've decided to undergo a kitchen renovation for my condo. I'm in the process of figuring out what will add value for myself as well as re-sale. I enjoy watching all the home reno shows on HGTV, especially Sarah Richardson's Design Inc. and Sarah's House. Feel free to check out my kitchen reno blog at:

Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs

According to Maslow, there is a hierarchy of needs where once the basic ones are met, the higher needs can be met. This can be seen in the pyramid diagram. This relates to the bucket list where an individual needs to have met the basic needs of food, shelter, clothing, etc. before attempting to accomplish higher needs like creativity and self-actualization.

Beer Festival

Today I went to the Beer festival for the first time! It was held at Fort York in downtown Toronto and you could sample a variety of beers from across the world. There was live music and a session on BBQ tips from an expert as well as the infamous "Hero" burgers. It was packed and a great time was had by all. I'll be sure to attend again next year. It was great that it did not rain as planned...

Things to do in Toronto?

I moved to Toronto in 2001 and have been living here ever since (7 years!). City living is great and there's never a dull moment but I'm looking for new activities and wanted to create my very own "bucket list" which is a list of things you want to do before you die. Any ideas? Some of the things I've recently participated include:

Sports & Activities
- CN tower climb (twice)
- Co-ed soccer with the TCSSC (Toronto Central Sport & Social Club)
- Lululemon scavenger hunt
- Great Neighbourhood race (United Way)
- Curling in a league
- Skating outdoors at Nathan Philips Square
- Skiing at Blue Mountain and Tremblant

Volunteer Work
- Out of the cold program (serving dinner to the homeless)

Social & Activities
- Operanation (fundraiser for the Canadian Opera Company)
- ROM Young Patron's circle
- Going for movies
- Cruise

I'm interested in trying other activities like:
- Fencing
- Indoor rock climbing
- Running a marathon
- White water rafting
If you have any suggestions, drop me a line. Thanks!
